Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential nominee, has vehemently condemned the alleged attack on his campaign manager in the Northeast region during the party’s Super Delegates Conference.
He condemned the reported mob assault on Ali Zakaria, his campaign organizer, calling it an example of an absolute lack of discipline and unacceptable behavior within the NPP.
In a conversation with reporters on August 29, Mr. Kyerematen emphasized his disbelief at what happened during the NPP’s Super Delegates Conference, which was held on Saturday, August 26, as well as his profound grief over the vicious attack on his campaign manager.

Ali Zakaria was captured on camera shortly after the alleged assault, clearly hurt and wearing bloody clothes.
He wished him a swift recovery, God’s many blessings, and he assured him and his family of his unflinching support. He claimed that this was an irreparable stain on the integrity of the internal election system within the NPP.
The former Minister of Trade and Industry drew attention to the significant contradiction between the party’s stated goal of maintaining decency and togetherness among its members and the incidence of such behavior during a crucial leadership election.

He claimed that they all joined the NPP because they were committed to the party’s beliefs, but what is transpiring clearly demonstrates that this is not what they anticipated when they joined the party.
He expressed his deep concern about the issue and urged that the party not try to minimize the significance of the occurrence.
