DASH Breakfast Dish
Banana-Nut Oatmeal (another flavorful recipe for your oatmeal)
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
· 1 cup steel cut oats
· 1 medium banana, mashed
· 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
· 2 cups skim milk
· 2 cups water
· 1/3 cup honey
· 2 teaspoons cinnamon
· 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions: Place all ingredients in a slow cooker, stir well, and cover. Cook on low heat for 8 hours. Serve with extra banana slices and walnuts on top.

But why cook for 8 hours?
This is because of the use of the slow cooker and also low heat cooking takes time. Low heat can retain enough nutrients.
