Ghanaian chef Abdul-Razak Failatu has embarked on a remarkable journey in Tamale, Northern Region, attempting to set a new Guinness World Record in the art of cooking.

Failatu’s ambitious goal is to cook continuously for an astounding 120 hours, aiming to surpass the existing Guinness cook-a-thon record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who achieved a duration of 119 hours and 57 minutes.

A Five-Day Cooking Marathon

The cooking marathon officially commenced on January 1st, with Failatu tirelessly working towards her goal. The event is scheduled to conclude on January 5th, marking an impressive five-day cooking marathon

Dedicated to the cause, Failatu is conducting her culinary feat without any interruptions, showcasing her cooking skills and endurance in the kitchen. The venue for this extraordinary attempt is the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.

The kitchen setup is an attraction in itself, featuring transparent glass walls that provide a clear view of Failatu’s cooking artistry. Adorned with canned food, an array of spices, and various utensils, the kitchen is also adorned with informative labels about the record attempt.

To maintain a safe distance from the audience, a barricade with ribbons has been set up a few meters away from the kitchen. The initiative is not only about setting a new record but also about placing Ghana on the global cooking map.
