Man is a creature of habit and will often settle quickly into a routine. Routine tends to create comfort zones that sometimes lead to mediocrity. There is always a place beyond and as long as we are satisfied, we might never dare to go. Deuteronomy 3:20-28 until the LORD gives rest to your fellow Israelites as He has to you, and they too have taken over the land that the LORD your GOD is giving them across the Jordan. After that, each of you may go back to the possession I have given you.” At that time I commanded Joshua: “You have seen with your own eyes all that the LORD your GOD has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms over there where you are going. Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your GOD Himself will fight for you.” At that time I pleaded with the LORD: “Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works You do? Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan—that fine hill country and Lebanon.” But because of you the LORD was angry with me and would not listen to me. “That is enough,” the LORD said. “Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan. But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see.”

After Israel was delivered from Egypt, GOD told Joshua to go beyond the Jordan even to the promised land. Once the land was taken, JEHOVAH said to an aged Joshua that there were still lands to possess. Joshua 11:23 So Joshua took the entire land, just as the LORD had directed Moses, and He gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal divisions. Then the land had rest from war. Taking the land was one thing, possessing it is another. Though the land was seized occupying it was the act of going beyond.

Elisha was provoked by Joash when he was instructed to smite the arrows on the ground, but he did so in moderation. The prophet rebuked him for not striking it at least six or seven times. 2 Kings 13:14-20 Now Elisha had been suffering from the illness from which he died. Jehoash king of Israel went down to see him and wept over him. “My father! My father!” he cried. “The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” Elisha said, “Get a bow and some arrows,” and he did so. “Take the bow in your hands,” he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. “Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it. “Shoot!” Elisha said, and he shot. “The LORD’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared. “You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.” Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and the king took them. Elisha told him, “Strike the ground.” He struck it three times and stopped. The man of GOD was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.” Elisha died and was buried.

Truly GOD can do exceedingly abundantly yet it is our minds that make us settle when indeed GOD isn’t quite done in our lives. Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. The anointing can go beyond and will go beyond. Let every working of the SPIRIT go beyond to affect all areas. Ephesians 1:19-23 and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised CHRIST from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And GOD placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.

Be willing to go beyond your comfort zone to provoke the fresh workings of GOD in your life. 2 Corinthians 8:3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own. Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of JEHOVAH unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My SPIRIT, saith JEHOVAH of hosts. AMEN!!!
