The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reacted quickly in reaction to a disturbing video that showed two students from Adisadel College engaging in violent behavior that resulted in the expulsion of two final-year students. The occurrence took place on June 30, 2023, in one of the institution’s dorms, Quaque House

The video, which has received a lot of social media attention, has sparked fury among the public and prompted questions about the security of pupils in educational facilities across the nation.

The head of the public relations department, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, released a statement on behalf of GES, expressing their deep concern and emphatic disapproval of the cruel crime performed by those involved.

In accordance with a statement from the school, the video has generated a significant inquiry that will go on until the Board of Governors and the Ghana Education Service make their final decision (GES). Due to their activities, the two offenders were dismissed from the school.

The main assailant will not be permitted to sit for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in school. Rather, he would sit for the examination in a venue that has been authorized by WAEC.

On the contrary side, the victim will be expelled from school and need to rejoin to take the exams with a parent or guardian. It was discovered that the victim did not notify the school’s administration of the event until they saw the video.

Disciplinary action will additionally be taken against the third individual who was part of the incident and was in charge of recording the video and posting it online.

He will first serve a one-week internal suspension with labor after receiving a one-week external suspension. His smartphone will be seized as part of the punishment.

All additional students who witnessed the attack but didn’t stop it or report it suffer an internal suspension as a consequence of the event.
